By all accounts in her obituary in the 'Wayne Independent" of July 30, 1913, Mary was a faithfully religious person:
"Mrs Mary Robinson, wife of Cyrene Ball, died at her home on West St Thursday evening July 21, 1913 of dropsy, from which she had been a patient sufferer for the last four years. She was a daughter of Mr and Mrs Thos Robinson and was born at Honesdale in 1853, her age being 54 years and 11 months. With the exception of an 18 years residence in Carbondale, her life was spent at this place. She is survived by her husband who faithfully and devotedly administered to her every want during her long and afflicted illness, and one son Irving of Wilkes-Barre; also one sister Mrs John Bryden of Nineveh, NY. Mrs Ball was a member of the Presbyterian Church and exemplified her profession of faith by conforming through life to the teachings of the Master.... interment made in Glen Dyberry Cemetery"
