LACKEY - James B. Ashlock, 60, a native of James City County, passed away Sunday, Aug. 10, 1997, at Riverside Regional Medical Center. He was a member of Chickahominy Baptist Church, Toano.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Josephine and Eunice Patrick Ashlock Sr.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his daughters, Rebecca Ashlock and Cheryl Ashlock; sister, Frances Wallace of Williamsburg; brothers, Marshall Ashlock, Eunice P. Ashlock Jr. and Charles Ashlock, all of Williamsburg, and Preston Ashlock of Avanio, Italy; his devoted companion, Alberta Chandler of Lackey; and nieces, nephews and a host of other loving relatives and caring friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Whiting's Chapel with the Rev. William Bassett officiating. Interment will follow in St. John Baptist Church Cemetery, Penniman Road. Family and friends will assemble at 5831 Richmond Road by noon on Thursday. Viewing will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m.

Professional services are under the direction of Whiting's Funeral Home, Williamsburg.
