Bill K. Pierce, 94, of Comanche died Tuesday, Sept. 21 in the Comanche Community Hospital. Services were Sept. 23 at Hall & Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Raymond Jones officiating. Burial was at Stag Creek Cemetery at Sidney.

Mr. Pierce was born in Hamilton, Mont. Aug. 8, 1905, the son of John Franklin and Cora Dunkelburg Pierce.

He was married to Amelia Martin in 1937, She preceded him in death in 1966. He later married Bernice Patton Byrd in 1969. She preceded him in death Dec. 23, 1986.

He was a rancher and had lived in the Comanche area for the past 29 years. He was a member of the Sidney Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include a stepson, Lester Byrd of Odessa; a sister, Mary Lee Balzen of Hamilton and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were nephews and great-nephews, Robert Taylor, Kenneth Balzen, J.C. Buster, Kevin Hudson, Kenneth Wayne Balzen and Jason Balzen.
