Edward William "Bud" Taylor, Jr., age 73, of Northport, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on March 27, 2009, at DCH Regional Medical Center.

Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Carrolls Creek Baptist Church with Bro. Alan Roggli and Bro. Don Springer officiating.

Burial will follow in Carrolls Creek Church Cemetery with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.

Survivors include his wife, Annie Wanita Hamner Taylor of Northport; his son, Joe Matt Taylor (Dana) of Northport; his daughters, Terri Taylor Cole (Jeff) of Tuscaloosa and Leigh Taylor Boswell (Alan) of Coker; his sisters, Janet Robuck (John) of Indian Springs and Pat Minus of Epes; his grandchildren, Ben Cole, Brett Cole, Kyle Boswell, Sam Boswell, Bradley Taylor, and David Taylor; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bud was born and raised in Union, Alabama. He was a fine Christian man, a loving husband to Nita for 48 years, a caring father to his three children, and a doting granddaddy to his six grandsons. Bud was a graduate of Auburn University. He traveled throughout the Southeast working with farmers and retailers in the agricultural field. He was well respected for his knowledge, dependability, and honesty by all with whom he worked. Bud was known as a great prayer warrior and witness for the Lord. He was a deacon and member of Carrolls Creek Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, playing golf, and church softball.

Pallbearers will be Alan Porter, Toby Porter, Jimmy Hamner, Kevin Hamner, Scotty Hamner, Carl Hamner, Craig Hamner, Brian Hamner, Jerry Edge, Kenyon Hamner, Jay Minus, and Ken Robuck.

Honorary pallbearers are members and deacons of Carrolls Creek Baptist, friends and neighbors of the LaFoy community, members of Beulah Baptist Church, friends and neighbors of the Snoddy, Eutaw, and Union communities, employees of Delta and Pine Land Company, Charles Spencer, Oscar Spencer, Bill Tucker, Alton Hamner, Clarence Walker, doctors, nurses, and staff of Davita, staff of VA Home Health Care, and A.B. Gualt.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Carrolls Creek Baptist Building Fund. .
