Romeo J. Martin, 85, Yalesville, passed away surrounded by his family, on Sunday, July 4, 2010, at the Regency House of Wallingford after a brief illness.
He was the loving husband of Geraldine (Thibodeau) Martin for 64 years.
He was born March 17, 1925, in Saint Anne, New Brunswick, Canada. He had worked for the International Laborers' Union of North America until his retirement 23 years ago.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Joan Coppola and husband Albert; two sons, Romeo Martin and wife Donna and Glenn Martin and wife
Nancy; and a daughter-in-law, Rachel Martin. He also leaves eight grandchildren, Jason Martin and wife Denise, Tina Davis and husband Jon, Nickie Ricci and husband Rob, Kelly Laferriere and husband Mark, Eric Martin, Scott Martin, Peter Coppola and wife Heidi, Michael Coppola, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Norman Martin.
The family would like to thank the staff and nurses of the Regency House for their caring compassion during his recent illness. A special thanks to a "special angel" Debbie for providing comfort and aid during these most trying times.
