Lula McCourtney Is Laid To Rest
MRS.McCOURTNEY DIES ON SUNDAY; SERVICES HELD ON WEDNESDAY

Mrs.Lula McCourtney, 78, was laid to rest Wednesday afternoon following funeral services held at the Wherry Mortuary in TableRock. Mrs.McCourtney, a long-time resident of this community, passed away at a Humboldt nursing home, Sunday afternoon.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev.Ward Merritt of Humboldt, and interment was made in the Table Rock cemetery. Singers were Mrs.Joe Socher and Mrs.Jesse Nemechek,Jr. Pallbearers included Gordon Bethel, L. J. Wenbauer, Lloyd Vrtista, Everett Winchow, Fred Jelink and Orval Johnson.

Lula Myrtle,daughter of Stephen and Barbara Bivans, was born December 23, 1880 at Flagler, Iowa, and departed this life at the age of 78 years, 8 months and 13 days at Humboldt, Nebraska.

She grew to womanhood in Knoxville, Iowa. On January 10, 1905 she was united in marriage with Charles McCourtney, who preceded her in death December 17, 1954.

Survivors are three step-daughters, Fern Frappia, Lomita, California, Lottie Davakos, Humboldt, and Eva Beers, Lincoln; three sons, Bruce of Syracuse, Mike of New Orleans, La., and Pat of Tecumseh; three daughters, Maude Bailey, Hillsboro, Oregon, Hazel Lutzi, Lincoln, and Velma Epley, International Falls, Minnesota; one brother, Floyd Bivans of Knoxville, Iowa. Several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews also survive.
