MRS FREEZE’S RITES PLANNED AT MT MORIAH
SALISBURY — Funeral services for Mrs Sarah Miranda Freeze, 84, will be held at 4 pm. Friday at Mt Moriah Lutheran church near China Grove.
Mrs Freeze died at her home, 201 West McCubbin St, at 11:30 pm Wednesdsay following an illness of one week. She had been in declining health for a number of years.
Final rites will be conducted by the Rev B W Zipperer, pastor of Mt Moriah. He will be assisted by the Rev J Samuel Wessinger of Little Mountain, SC, and Dr Sidney J Gates, pastor of the First Presbyterian church of Salisbury where Mrs Freeze was a member.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs Freeze was born January 12, 1872 in Maryville, Tenn. She was a daughter of the late James and Sally Brewer.
The body will remain at Honeycutt’s Funeral Home in China Grove until 3:15 pm Friday when it will be removed to the church to lie in state. The family will be at the residence in Salisbury until time for the services.
Survivors include her husband, Jacob Daniel Freeze; one stepson, Fred D Freeze of Route 1, China Grove; one stepdaughter, Mrs Kathleen Porter of Salisbury; nine step-grandchildren and five step-great grandchildren.
