Barton H. Atkinson, 65 years of age, died suddenly at his home here Sunday, following a three-weeks' illness. Mr. Atkinson was born in Scotland Co, MO, and moved to Berryville with his parents, the late John and Mary Atkinson, some 40 years ago. He was associated with his father in the furniture and undertaking business and since his father's death sixteen years ago, he has carried on the business. He has been a licensed embalmer some thirty years, and for a number of years was Berryville's only real estate agent. He was a member of the Christian church and the local I. O. O. F. Lodge. Besides the widow, Mrs. Anna Dodson-Atkinson, he is survived by three children, Mrs. Minto McGill of Chidster, AR; Mrs. Geo. Woolsey, Fresno, CA, and John Atkinson, Meeker, CO. Funeral services will be held from the Berryville Chirstian church, Friday with interment in the I. O. O. F. cemetery, under the direction of Morton's Funeral Home of Eureka Springs. Honorary Pallbearers - Dr. F. L. Vawter, J. H. Hanna, J. P. Hanna, W. J. Bunch, B. O. George, W. H. Molloy, John Fulton, John Evans. Active Pallbearers - D. C. Mest, A. C.
