NEWSPAPER OBITUARY - Thursday, February 23, 1933 Mexico Independent - Mexico, New York - Lillian Clare Pond, 58, died at her home on North Jefferson St., this village, on Sunday afternoon, February 19th after an illness of several months. Mrs. Pond was born in the village of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, January 18, 1874, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Clare. She had been a resident of this village for the past six months. Previous to that time she, with her husband, conducted a gas station on the Syracuse - Watertown highway two miles north of Pulaski. She was a member of the First Methodist Episcopal church of Shepherdsville, Kentucky. She is survived by her husband, Jesse Pond, and several neices and nephews. Private funeral services were held from her late home on Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock, with Rev. John Warren of the Pulaski Methodist Episcopal church officiating. Interment was in Mexico Village Cemetery. Bearers were Curtis Pond, of Maple View, Claude Pond, of Mexico, Robert Cates of Douglas District., and George Cates of Daysville.
