NEWSPAPER OBITUARY - Thursday, May 17, 1928 Mexico Independent - Mexico, New York - Mrs. Blanche Pond, 40, wife of Jesse Pond, died at her home in the town of Mexico, Friday morning after an illness of a few days. Mrs. Pond was born in the town of Mexico, June 2, 1887, daughter of Ellen Hotchkiss Parks and the late William Parks. She spent her entire life in this community. She was a member of Silver Crest Rebeka Lodge, the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion and Texas Grange. Besides her husband, she leaves her mother, Mrs. Ellen Parks; three brothers, Herbert and Hugh of Mexico and Earl of Syracuse; one sister Mrs. Winifred Stowell, of Syracuse. Funeral services were conducted at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Orson Pond, East Main St., Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. B. L. Waters, pastor of the First Methodist church of this village officiated. The floral offerings were many and beautiful. Interment was in Mexico Village Cemetery.
