William R. "Bill" Threet, aged 77, of Route 1, Lead Hill, died at the Boone County Hospital, Saturday, Sept. 1.
He was born Oct. 28, 1901, at Waxahachie, Tex., a son of Robert Ashbury and Betty Pruett Threet. He was a farmer and a member of Southside Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Cordie Wyatt Threet, of the home; a son, Dr. Kenneth Threet, Lead Hill; a sister, Phoebe Raley, Lead Hill; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Billy Dorton Threet, a daughter, Betty Arstella Threet, and a sister, Ollie Hudson.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, at Southside Baptist Church with the Rev. Dale Barnett and the Rev. John Finn officiating. Burial was in Maplewood Cemetery under the direction of Holt Memorial Chapel.
Pallbearers were Dell, Gimnez, Charles Dixon, Charley Tilton, Tom Conner, Ray Farmer, Clint Walker.
