7-24-1849 -- 3-12-1919

Mrs. Martha Helen Emert, the beloved wife of Adam Emert, died last Wednesday morning at their home on Whig Hill, after an illness of about one year's duration, aged 69 years, 9 months and 16 days.

The deceased was converted in the Wesleyan Methodist church about 45 years ago, but has been a faithful member of the Free Methodist church for over 28 years.

Besides her husband, she is survived by the following sons and daughters: William and Mrs. William Weingard both of Whig Hill; Elias of German Hill; and Mrs. Wilbur Johnson of Warren. She is also survived by one half-brother A. W. Albaugh of Church Hill and two half-sisters, Mrs. G. D. Atwell of Church Hill and Mrs. Andrew Emert of Tionesta.

The funeral services were conducted at the Zuendel church on German Hill, where the interment took place, at 2:00 PM Friday, conducted by the Rev. E. L. Monroe of Oil City, assisted by Rev. George Mccleary, the local pastor from Mayburg.

The text for the funeral sermon, selected by the deceased, was taken from Second Timothy, chapter 4, verses 7 and 8, and the hymns selected, all favorites of the departed, were "Shall We Gather At The River", "The Pearly White City", "Rock of Ages", and "Over the River I Am Going".
