GOVELITZ, Robert Thomas, 82, of Lake Placid, Fla., passed away Friday night, July 2, 2010, at Tampa General Hospital. He was born December 22, 1927, in Port Reading, N.J., to parents, John and Mary (Barna) Govelitz. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during both World War II and Korea. He and his wife spent many years in Woodbridge, N.J., and after retiring from the New Jersey State Police as an alcohol beverage control agent, they moved to Chemung, N.Y. In 2004 they decided to move south and settled in at Lake Placid. Bob was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3880, Waverly Lions Club, Friends of the Library Lake Placid and St. James Catholic Church, where he enjoyed singing in the church choir. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Susane; daughters, Susan Marino (Nicholas), Gail Ewanyk (James), Lori Parsons (John) and Carrie Cisek (Chester); son, Tom Govelitz (Diane); grand-children, Alexis and Nicole Marino, Brian Ewanyk and Jeanette Ewanyk Beck (Brian), Alison, Robert, Trevor and Chloe Govelitz, Steven and Scott Kesselman, Benjamin, Rachel and Kyle Parsons, and Julian and Jack Cisek; great-grandchildren, Collin and Charlie Beck; and sisters, Eleanor Gallagher, Mary Vozar and Veronica Nacchio. An interment service will take place in mid-August at Bath Nation Cemetery in Bath, N.Y. A service celebrating Bob' s life will take place here in October at the Florida Campgrounds Club House.
