Husband of Prudence Beardsley. Served during the Civil War with the 164th Ohio Infantry.

164th OHIO INFANTRY
Organized May 11, 1864 under Col. John C. Lee as an Ohio National Guard unit for 100-days service. It moved by rail to Washington City. The regiment did efficient garrison duty on the Potomac during it's term of service and was mustered out on August 27, 1864.

Organized at Camp Taylor, Cleveland, Ohio, left for Washington D.C. Was attached to the 1st Brigade, DeRussy's Division, 22nd Army Corp. and assigned to duty on the south side of the Potomac as garrison at Forts Smith, Strong, Bennett, Hagerty and others. They repulsed early attacks on Washington on July 11 and 12, 1864. The regiment lost 18 enlisted men to disease during it's service.

"BEARDSLEY - Mills H. Beardsley, aged 63 years, 6 months and 21 days, formerly of Akron, died at Oakland, Cal., Friday, July 14, of cancer of the stomach. Funeral Thursday at 2 o'clock at Memorial Chapel in Glendale cemetery."
Husband of Prudence Beardsley. Served during the Civil War with the 164th Ohio Infantry.
