Obituary, Chronicle Independent (Camden, SC) December 20, 2002: Blanche Lane - Willie Blanche Lane, 90, of Camden, died Monday, Dec. 23. Born in Camden, she was a daughter of the late Henry Hampton and Sallie Leanne West Sanders and wife of the late Rev. G.W. Lane. She was retired from Kendall Mills and was a member of Gardner Street Free Will Baptist Church. Surviving are four daughters, Juanita Peavy of Hartsville, and Betty L. Swann, Macie L. Guinn and Mazie L. Beam of Camden; a son, Jerry K. Lane of Panama City, Fla.; two sisters, Juanita Outlaw and Agnes Dennis of Camden; 16 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Mrs. Lane was predeceased by a son, George H. Lane. Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Gardner Street Free Will Baptist Church, conducted by the Revs. Charles Roark, Norman Edgeworth and Everett Reconnu, with burial in Wateree Baptist Church cemetery. Pallbearers are C.T. Swann III, Kent C. Guinn, James Peavy, Gene Peavy, Charles Beam Jr. and Steve Peavy. Memorials may be made to Gardner Street Free Will Baptist Church, 1205 Gardner St., Camden, SC 29020; Kershaw Free Medical Clinic, East DeKalb Street, Camden, SC 29020; or Kershaw County Hospice, 2001 W. DeKalb St., Camden, SC 29020. Kornegay Funeral Home is in charge.
