Mrs. Bessie E. Bartlett, 72, of 1508 E. Commercial St., in Victoria, died at 9 a.m. Tuesday in a local hospital after an illness of several weeks.
A resident of Victoria since 1910, Mrs. Bartlett was born in Cherokee, Okla., May 25, 1895. A member of the Central Church of Christ, Mrs. Bartlett was retired. She had taught school for several years, but later worked as a bookkeeper at Anchor Lumber.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with Bill York, pastor of Central Church of Christ officiating.
Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Survivors include a husband, LeRoy Bartlett of Victoria; three sisters, Mrs. Lila Henderson of Bloomington, Ill., Mrs. Leah Ferguson of Brownfield, Tex., and Mrs. Blanch Lee of Port Arthur, Tex.; three brothers, Grover, John and Roy West, all of Victoria.
