Mary Isabelle "Belle" Rice Aamodt died Monday, September 23, 2002 in Orem, Utah at the age of 90. She was born March 26, 1912 to David Leonard and Olean Smith Rice in Farming-ton, Utah. She married Don L. Aamodt on October 4, 1932 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Mrs. Aamodt was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many capacities, including teaching and in the presidency of the Relief Society, MIA, and Primary. She served with her husband in the Salt Lake Temple as ordinance workers for 15 years. They loved this experience. Her family was most important to her and she was frequently visited in her home by family and good friends. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and served in various positions in that organization for many years. She loved her great pioneer heritage and wrote many life histories and stories for her children and grandchildren, as well as doing a great deal of family history research and temple work.

Belle is survived by two sons, D. David Aamodt (Shirley), John Rice Aamodt, both of Farmington, Utah; and a daughter, Ruth Aamodt Smith (Bruce) of Orem, Utah. She has 15 grandchildren and 36 great-grand-children. She was preceded in death by her husband in February, 1992, and all 10 of her brothers and sisters, Cecelia, D. Steven, Erma, Clara, Rolley (Rawl), Hilda Moss, James, LeGrande, Austin, and Emily Barnes.
