Cora was born December 29, 1908 to Emma (Christianson)and Otto A. Peterson in Minneapolis. Cora, a second child, together with her sister Ada, and parents moved to a farm just east of Rose City in 1909. There 9 more children were born and Cora helped her mother care for them.
She attended school District #51 and then went to Bethel College in St. Paul. Cora married Paul Ek on September 22, 1927. They lived on the Nels Ek farm just inside Otter Tail County. Paul Ek died March 28, 1934.
Cora moved to California and served as caregiver and companion to several families over a number of years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Emma Peterson; husband, Paul Ek; two sisters, Ada, and Thelma; six brothers, Hugo, George, Carl,Leonard, Norman and Albert; Five sisters-in-law, Hazel, Norma, Viola, Zona and Mary: and four brothers-in-law, Hjalmer, Peter, Albert and Jim.
Cora is survived by two sisters, Emmelyn (Harvey) Danielson, of Rose City, and Mary Noonan of Sun Lakes, Arizona; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Peterson (Carl's widow), and Lois Peterson (Leonard's widow), of New Mexico; and numerous cousins and neices and nephews.
God's blessing on her kindness, love, generosity and talent down through the years. She was greatly loved by family and friends.
