Funeral services for James Nolan Fowler, 72, of Winnsboro, will be held at Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at 10 a.m. with Bishop Michael Couch officiating. Burial will follow at Ogden Cemetery under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro.

Mr. Fowler was born July 24, 1937 in Winnsboro, and passed away Sunday, July 4, 2010 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe. He was a resident of Winnsboro. He worked in the oil fields of South Louisiana as an operator, a certified welder, a commercial fisherman, and a farmer. He served in the US Marines.

He was preceded in death by: his father, Herman Fowler, mother, Eva (Johnson) Fowler; wife, Patricia "Patsy" (Willis) Fowler; sister, Erma Fowler.

Survivors include his son, James T. Fowler and wife Mary of Houma, La.; daughter, Eva Marie Perlander and husband John of Jesuit Bend, La.; two brothers: John W. Fowler of Winnsboro, and Douglas Fowler and wife Joann of Bossier City, La.; sister, Hilda St. Pierre of Tyler, Texas; four granddaughters: Melissa Martin and husband Doug of Bastrop, Michelle Brooks and husband Louis of Echo, La., Maryna Fowler and Patricia Fowler, both of Houma; three grandsons: Jason Serigny and wife Cheradie of Buras, La., Noah Serigny and wife Jamie of San Diego, Calif.; Shaun Fowler and wife Tammy of Dennam Springs, La.; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Jason Serigny, Noah Serigny, Louis Brooks, Justin Brooks, James T. Fowler, and Stacy Fowler.

The family will receive friends at Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home from 5-9 p.m., Wednesday, July 7, 2010.
