Obituary for Mrs. Herbert Cudney

Mary Rebecca Shippen was born June 27, 1891, at Leoti, Kansas, and passed away November 18, 1951, at her home in Colorado Springs hospital, near her home at Woodland Park, Colorado, at the age of 60 years, four months and 21 days.

On December 25, 1911 she was untied in marriage to David Ethan Moore. To this union six children were born, Riley Oren and the husband preceding her in death; Wilma Leona Basford, of Grand Junction, Colorado; Rose Marie Thompson, Holdenville, Oklahoma; Virginia Mae Peters, Tipton, Oklahoma; Esther Faye Roehm, of Fruita, Colorado; Cpl. David Jene Moore, Mather A.F.B., California.

In later years Mary was united in marriage to Herbert Cudney of Salem, Nebraska.

She leaves to mourn her departure, her loving husband, her children and their companions, 16 grandchildren and one great grandchild, and many other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Cudney was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. V. Shippen of Jewell City, Kansas. Both of them preceded her in death, also two sisters, Myrtle Gertrude and Lillian Pearl Umphenour. Surviving sisters are Georgia Mae Hastings and Margaret Leona Oberheide both of Guide Rock, Nebraska, and one brother, William Oren of Nettleton, Missouri.

Mrs. Cudney was a member of the Methodist church from early life. Her every wish was for her children and her grandchildren. After physical decline she was called to the Great Beyond.

Funeral services were held in the Lebanon, Kansas Methodist church conducted by the pastor, Rev. Harry Riley. His text was, "The Lord is My Shepherd." Songs were "In The Garden," "We're Going Down the Valley," "Beyond the Sunset," and were sung by ladies of the Methodist church.

Pallbearers were Frederick Hastings, Delbert Griffith, Loren Merrill, Lester Aubushon, Roy Aubushon and Keith Hartman.

Interment was made in the Cora cemetery.
