(Caroline died of childbirth complications two days after the birth & death of infant daughter. She has triple stone with her two infants.)
(*Note Infant son memorial is b/d Apr 1863, however the mostly illegible tombstone looks like Apr 1868. Newton and Caroline did not marry until Dec. 1864.)

(Note: Death cert. did not show length of time Newton had been inmate in the State Hospital, nor did it show the name of his wife or parents, or the name of the cemetery.)

After Newton's death, his widow moved to Texas to live with their daughter, Cleita.
