John T. Cole, 79, passed away Friday evening at home. John was the owner and operator of Johnnie's Alignment Service for more than 30 years in Muncie and previously was employed at Paul Abel Motors for 10 years. He was a veteran of World War II and was a Master Sargeant in the Army Motor Corps. He served in the Phillippines and in Japan.

He started the Muncie Public Service League in Men's Fastpitch Softball with John Hoover in 1952. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed woodworking and working in his garden. John was a member of the American Legion, life member of VFW 651, Eagles and Moose Lodge.

John is survived by his wife of nearly 59 years, Rosabell (Sutton) Cole; two daughters, Jonna and Carolyn; two granddaughters; a stepgrandson; two great-grandsons who were the light of his life; two sisters, Ruth King and Virginia King; two sisters-in-law; a brother-in-law; and several nieces and nephews who will miss him.

John lived his life to the fullest and enjoyed his family and friends. He was a farmer at heart and never lost his love for the land. He was a proud veteran of the military and was glad he was able to serve his country. Most importantly he was a wonderful husband, a great dad, and a loving grandfather, and he will be missed by all who knew him.

Services will be Tuesday, June 17, at 10 a.m. at Parson Mortuary, with Rev. Robert Sutton officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Ridge Memorial Park, with military graveside rites conducted by the Delaware County Veterans Honor Guard.
