J. B. Cain, 56, died at his home of a heart attack on May 2. Mr. Cain had been in Rockingham for fifteen years, where he was connected with P. D. Ballard in the grocery business. He was for many years a deputy sheriff in Florence County, S.C. before coming here.
Funeral services were held from the Community Church at East Rockingham Sunday at 4 p.m., with Rev. Walter Patterson officiating. Interment followed in Northam Cemetery.
Surviving Mr. Cain is his widow, the former Miss Viola Watkins; and a step daughter, Lottie Fay Cain of Rockingham.
