Davenport - Mass of Resurrection for Marjorie A. Guild, 89, will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Davenport. Burial will be in the Littig family plot at Oakdale Memorial Gardens in Davenport.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Friday at Weerts Furneral Home, Davenport, where a prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m.
Mrs. Guild died Wednesday, May 22, 2002, at the Kahl Home for the Aged in Davenport.
Marjorie A. Littig was born May 2, 1913, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was the daughter of Harry E. and Lucy (Hombrecht) Littig. She attended Davenport High School and Grinnell College.
She married John P. Guild, the father of her five children, in 1936 in Champaign, Ill.
She was an accomplished homemaker, a devoted mother to her children and brought great joy to everyone she met. She was a longtime member of the Outing Club and a master bridge player who traveled extensively with her family.
Memorials may be made to the Kahl Home for the Aged or to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, where she was a member.
Survivors include daughters, Lucia (Mrs. Donald L.) Otto, Rocky River, Ohio, Laurie G. Burdick, Bettendorf; Catherine (Mrs. Robert G.) Schlichting, Davenport; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Jane Guild, Bettendorf; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; her brother-in-law and dearest friend, James Justin (Judd) Guild, Rock Island; plus close friends, Bernice Noland and Rovine Langwith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Lucille; and her eldest son, John A. (Tony) Guild, who died in 1996.
