Enlisted, August 6, 1862, at Newburgh, to serve three years; mustered in as sergeant, Co. I, September 5, 1862; wounded in action, July 2, 1863, at Gettysburg, Pa.; transferred to Veteran Reserve Corps, March 16, 1864.

Located first at Howell, Michigan, spent a few years at Hastings, Nebraska and then moved to VanBuren Co. Iowa.
