George was the son of Berjer Bergeson & Ellen Goteson. He married Hannah Anniah Williams in 1894. They were the parents of Harvey, Laura, Mildred, Amanda, Archie, Mabel, Lester, Theodore, Burt, & Roy.

Jan 19, 1939 - Estherville Enterprise - George H. Bergeson for 28 years a resident of this county passed away last Sunday at his farm home northeast of Gruver. Mr. Bergeson has made many close friends during his residence in this county. He was a kind and beloved neighbor, always willing to be of assistance to his friends.

He was born on March 10, 1870 at LaSalle, Illinois. He was married to Miss Hannah Williams of Webster City in 1891. He came to Hamilton county, Iown from La Salle in 1891 and for a time he resided in Minnesota before coming to this county. His health has not been the best for several years. The past three months his condition hns been considered serious.

He is survived by his widow and five daughters: Mrs. Jack Tucker of Oklahoma City, Okla.; Mrs. Guy Ramsey of Estherville; Mrs. Thomas McKann of Gruver; Mrs. Russell Graves of Maple Hill; and Mrs. L.A. Ford of Los Angeles, Calif.; and five sons: Bert and Archie of Tigerton, Wis.; Harvey of Chicago; Roy of Los Angeles, Calif.; and Lester, living at home. The funeral services were held on Wednesday.

Bergeson, 69, died at – p.m. yesterday at his home near Gruver after an illness of three months duration during which he has suffered from heart trouble. He had been in poor health for several years.

Surviving besides the wife are five daughters, Mrs. Jack Tucker, of Oklahoma City, Okla., Mrs. Guy Ramsey of Estherville, Mrs. Thomas McKean of Maple Hill, and Mrs. L.A. Ford of Los Angeles, Calif.; and five sons, Bert and Archie of Tigerton, Wis., Harvey of Chicago, Roy of Los Angele, Calif., and Lester, living at home.

There are also three brothers, Sam of Mitchell, S.D., Ed of Ringsted, and Arthur of Whitefish, Mont.; and three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Winkelblack of Sebastopol, Calif.; Mrs. Ambrose Lettson of Seneca, Ill.; and Mrs. Martin Munson of Northfield, Minn.

A son and daughter preceded Mr. Bergeson in death. No funeral arrangements have been made.
