Funeral of Carrie Sprow

The body of Carrie Catherine Sprow, the nine years old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Sprow, Highspire, arrived here Wednesday on the 10:22 a.m. train and was taken to the United Brethren church where funeral services were conducted by Rev. Shroyer assisted by Rev. Strine.

The deceased had been blind for over a year but was a bright and intelligent little girl, one who had given the Bible some study and in her tender years accepted Christ as her Savior.

The following hymns were sung; "I shall See Him Face to Face", "Asleep in Jesus", "Nearer My God to Thee", and "Shall We Gather at the River"?

The text, "Suffer little children to come unto Me and forbid them not for such is the kingdom of heaven" used by Rev. Shroyer in his funeral discourse was chosen by the child.

One of the pitiful sights and one that brought tears to many eyes was the burial of a large doll baby that the little girl played with very frequently along with her in the casket at her request. The coffin was covered with flowers of all kinds.

The pallbearers were Glenn ???, Glen Smith, Joseph McFerren and Luther Coble, school boys of this place.
The interment was made at Rose Hill Cemetery in Mont Alto.
