MRS. CLARA WRIGHT

Clara Martha Kelsey, youngest daughter of Daniel and Martha Hall Kelsey, was born June 27, 1859, in Monroe county, Iowa, and passed from this life in Chariton, Iowa, on Nov. 2, 1944, at the age of 85 years, 4 months and 6 days.

In 1880 she was married to Robert L. Wright in Nebraska. They lived there for several years, then came to Monroe county, Iowa, and later to Chariton where she had since resided.

Mr. Wright died on June 16, 1910. Mrs. Wright was also preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Maggie Owen, who passed away on Feb. 3, 1943, and by four sisters and two brothers.

She is survived by three daughters and two sons, Mrs. Nellie Gilbert, of Russell; Mrs. May Allison amd Mrs. Emma LaFavre, both of Chariton; Will Wright, of Hanford, Wash.; and Thomas Wright, of Flint, Mich. There are also 19 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren; and two brothers, Perry Kelsey, of Oregon; and D. A. Kelsey, of California; and other relatives and many friends.

She had been affiliated with the U. B. church and had expressed her readiness to and be with her Lord and the loved ones gone before.

Funeral services, conducted by Rev. A. E. Beals, were held on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 5, at the Miley funeral home and interment was in the Chariton cemetery.

Those from a distance in attendance at the last rites were her son, Thomas Wright and son, Earl, and Mrs. Homer Wright, all of Flint, Mich.; a granddaughter, Mrs. Olive Cowan and two children, of Bryant, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Dooley and Mrs. Anna Potts, of Albia; Mr. and Mrs. Beatty, of Ottumwa.
