Evelyn Pearson, 88, of the Rockford Community, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Feb. 15, 2008, at her home.Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Smith and Rev. Carter Lyles officiating. Burial follows in Evergreen Cemetery. The family receives friends from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.The daughter of John F. and Ora Briggs Farris, she was born December 11, 1919, in Tigertown. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Clardy.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Delbert Pearson on Jan. 18, 1973, a brother, John Farris, and two sisters, Wilma Crawley and Colene Bartlett.Survivors include two daughters, Pat Smith and husband, Jess, of Honey Grove, and Peggy Kerley and husband, R. B., of Rockford; her grandchildren who were the light of her life, Karmyn Green and husband, Paul, of Paris, and Jeff Kerley and wife, Felishia, of Rockford; along with four great grandchildren, Kaleb and Kody Green and Gail and Daniel Kerley.Pallbearers will be Johnnie Smith, Currey Jones, Gene Burns, Richard Eatherly, Hack Blankenship and Gordon Vandeaver.
