Mrs W.S. Bowlin (Edna Ellen Bowlin), daughter of Frank and Ollie Hoover, was born on a farm near Spring Hill, IA., May 1, 1888, and died April 7, 1945, at the age of 56 years, 11 months, and 7 days.

She was united in marriage to Walter Scott Bowllin, Jan. 24, 1907, in Indianola. To this union were born two sons, Raymond and Lester. Those who have preceded her in death are her son Lester, two brothers and three sisters.

Having failed in health about six years ago, she had taken her illness and suffering with a smile and was always ready to help anyone in distress. She took Christ as her Saviour when a girl at the Methodist church at Spring Hill and was ready to meet her Saviour whenever she was called. She was a kind and loving wife and mother. She leaves to mourn her death her loving husband, Walter Bowlin; son Raymond; daughter-in-law Mrs Raymond Bowlin; four grandchildren, Robert, Phyllis, Ronald and Larry of Indianola; two sisters, Miss Lillian Hoover of Des Moines and Mrs. Alma Beltz of Spring Hill; and a host of relatives and friends.

Services were held at Dunn Funeral Home in Des MoInes Thursday, April 12. Burial was in Linn Grove cemetery. The Rev. E.W. Frohardt officiating at the funeral.
