Lometa Sparks, 89, of Amarillo died Friday, March 30, 2007.

No services are scheduled. Arrangements are by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd.

Mrs. Sparks was born July 6, 1917, in Austin. She then moved to Spearman and married James L. Sparks on her 16th birthday. Mrs. Sparks took up art in 1957. She then moved to Amarillo in 1998 where she lived until her death. She was a loving and caring person and will be missed by all who knew her and loved her.

Survivors include two sons, Larry Sparks of Canyon Lake and Evan Sparks of San Antonio; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to the Alzheimer's Association, Panhandle Chapter, 1400 Wallace Blvd., Amarillo, TX 79106.
