Wanda Dean Partin Brunson was born January 1, 1931, to W.L. and Billie Partin in Mexia, Texas. She departed this life January 24, 2022.

Wanda moved to Baytown, Texas, when she was in the fourth grade and attended Ashbel Smith Elementary. She made many friends and was recognized by her peers at Robert E. Lee High School—throughout high school she was the class favorite and cheerleader. In 1948 Wanda married John Brunson, Jr., and they lived in Baytown all of their married life.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Irene, her husband, Johnny; two of their sons, William Barber Brunson and John Barry Brunson; and granddaughter Page Spence.

She is survived by her sister Ginger Scarborough and her husband, Harold Lynn; her children Rebecca (Becky) Spence and her husband, Bruce; Brent Brunson and his wife, Joy; Annabeth Brunson, and daughter-in-law Connie Brunson. Also surviving Wanda are grandchildren Adam, Leigh and husband Eddie, Paul and wife Tiffany, Matt and wife Chrissy, Meagan, Lance and wife Kelly, Shay, Daniel, Katie and husband Charles, and Ben and wife Kristin, and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Wanda worked for Goose Creek Consolidated Independent School District in the media department and as a school secretary. In later years she worked at the Baytown Civic Center, teaching Small Fry Recreation and later became the coordinator for a variety of programs offered to the citizens of Baytown. She retired from the city in 1991.

As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served as a Sunday school teacher, a Primary teacher, Stake and Ward librarian, and a Youth leader.

Wanda will be interred at the Hill of Rest Cemetery in Baytown, next to her husband and sons, at a private family graveside service.

The family is appreciative to the members of her congregations in Baytown and Ruidoso, NM, and for all of those friends who shared and made memories with her during her lifetime. The family also wants to thank the staff of ADL Assisted Living in Highlands, TX, the excellent caregivers from Serenity Solutions, Alice, and beloved friend and caregiver, Jessie.
