Clifford Dalton Broyles, 85, 463 Sugar Hollow Road, Jonesborough, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2011, in the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County and was a son of the late Reverend Vestal and Louie Jane Hammer Broyles. Mr Broyles was a retired employee from ET&WNC Trucking, where he had worked as dispatcher for many years. He was a longtime member and Elder of the Philadelphia Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Washington County. Mr Broyles was a disabled veteran, having served his country in the US Army Air Corps.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Wilhoit Broyles, in 2006; a brother, Carl Broyles; five sisters, Clara Norton, Cleo Shelton, Claudine Hensley Jackson, Charlotte Rudder and Chloe Broyles; special friend, Arnell Broyles.

Survivors include a son, Michael Broyles and his wife, Dawn, of Jonesborough; a sister, Christine St John; two granddaughters, Diane and Ashley Broyles, all of Jonesborough; a special cousin, Corinne Broyles, Johnson City; special friends, Connie Broyles and William Hockett. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral service for Mr Broyles will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 12, 2011, in the Philadelphia Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Corby Bridge Road, Limestone, with the Pastor Lon Broyles officiating. Burial will follow in the Philadelphia Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Thursday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM. Woodall-Anderson and Dugger Funeral Home, 108 W Watauga Avenue, Johnson City, is serving the Broyles family, (423) 928-2245.
