He married Mary Ann Gohn ca. 1862 and fathered William (b. 01/12/63), Anna Mary (b. 08/30/66 - married a Lloyd), Elizabeth R. (b. 11/21/72), Emma Florence (b. 09/04/77 or 78 - married a Boyd), and Dollie (b. @1882).
A Civil War veteran, he enlisted in Harrisburg at the oddly understated age of twenty-three August 20, 1864, mustered into federal service there September 1 as a private with Co. G, 205th Pennsylvania Infantry, and honorably discharged with his company June 2, 1865.
