Obituary: EVA FAY BAILEY WHEELER JONES, OGDEN, Utah—Funeral services for Eva Fay Bailey Wheeler Jones were at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, 2000, at the Ogden 29th Ward Chapel in Ogden, Utah. Burial was in Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, Ogden. Mrs. Jones, 83, of Ogden, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000, at her home. She was a former resident of Green River. She was born Dec. 27, 1916, in Wellsville, Utah, the oldest of eight children born to Ernest A. and Evangline Davies Bailey. She was educated in the Cache, Weber and Ogden City school districts, graduating from Ogden High School in 1934. She married Elvin L. Wheeler on July 25, 1936, in Ogden. They were later divorced. She then married Lewis J. Jones on Feb. 19, 1945, in Las Vegas. They were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on Oct. 19, 1946. Jones was killed in a mining accident on Oct. 12, 1957. She later married Jess Kraner. They were later divorced. She worked at the Ogden Arsenal, Hill Field Air Force Base and McKay-Dee Hospital before retiring in 1981. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints where she held many teaching positions. Her interests included singing, sewing, cooking, ceramics and genealogy. She was also a member of Camp C of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.

She is survived by nine children, Robert and Nancy Wheeler, Highland, Calif., Verta Wheeler Murray, Clearfield, Utah, Joanne and Larry Blanch, West Weber, Utah, Ronald and Margaret Jones, Ogden, Lt. Col. Dale and LeeAnn Jones, Hemet, Calif., Carol and Ben Sherwood, Green River, Ralph and Suzanne Jones, Kearns, Utah, Raelyn Jones Rusch, Ogden, and Tamara Ardell Rose, Lyman; 25 grandsons; 13 granddaughters; 27 great-grandsons; 17 great-granddaughters; five stepchildren, Claude and JoAlice Jones, Jensen, Utah, Mary and Louis Middleton, Morgan, Utah, Alice Jones Abernathy, Ogden, Frank and Diane Jones, Ogden, and John and Ann Jones, Sultan, Wash.; many stepgrand and great-grandchildren; and her brothers, Leland and Claire Bailey, and sister, Elizabeth Bailey Grant, all of Ogden.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Gene Lon Wheeler; two great-grandsons, Taylor and Trent Blanch; three brothers, Dean, Blaine and Wayen; and one sister, Johanna.
