A. J. C0NKLE DIED SUNDAY AT AGE OF 84
Funeral Held This Afternoon from the U. B. Church at Brashear

Andrew Jackson Conkle died of apoplexy yesterday morning at 4 o'clock at his residence, 1114 East Jefferson street, at the age of 84 year and 11 months. His wife died three week ago yesterday, and it is believed the loss of his life companion brought the end more quickly to the aged man.
Funeral services are being held this afternoon at the United Brethren church at Brashear. Conducted by the Rev. F. E. Plumb.
Mr. Conkle leave two daughters, Mrs. Sam Platz, of Brashear, and Mrs. Charles Stewart of Monrovia ,Calif., and one brother, Lewis Conkle, of Brashear. He moved to Kirksville 28 years ago from a farm near Brashear.
He was a veteran of the Civil War, having enlisted in Company K, Missouri Cavalry, May 1. 1862, and was honorably discharged Nov. 1, 1864. He retained his membership in the G. A. R. post at Brashear until his death.
