Margaret Carlson, 85, of Fergus Falls, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007, at Pioneer Retirement Community in Fergus Falls.

She was born Jan. 8, 1922, in Otter Tail County, the daughter of Hosea and Grace (Rix) Cookman. She attended country school through the eighth grade. She kept house in Fergus Falls until her marriage.

On Dec. 27, 1944, she married Orville H. Carlson in Fergus Falls. They moved to Oscar Township where she was a farm wife. In February of 2004, she moved to the Pioneer Home.

Margaret was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church in Elizabeth where she participated in WELCA and taught Sunday school. She enjoyed gardening, and feeding and watching the birds.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Orville in 2004; her brothers, William Cookman and Robert Cookman; and her sister, Gladys Sanden.

Visitation: One hour before the service at the church

Service: 1 p.m. Saturday at Augustana Lutheran Church in Elizabeth
