John Salzsider, the aged father of well known residents of this community, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Herman Herbst, at 12:30 o'clock Thursday night, following an illness since last spring.
A native of Germany, he came to America about 45 years ago and located in Algoma, Wis. Following the death of his wife about 5 years ago, he came north and made his home with a son in Faithorn and later resided with his daughter of this city.
He reared a family of 3 sons and 5 daughters, all of whom survive him: Albert Brandt, Frank and Gus Salzsider, Mrs. Charles Ruckert, Mrs. Joseph Kinney, Mrs. Frank Tarr and Mrs. Herman Herbst.
The funeral will be held from the Herbst home, 801 Nelson Street, at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon.
