Born March 31, 1911, in Kilbourne, IL to William Henry and Bertha Bell Sims Tackman, she married Ernest Beebe on July 9, 1931, in Manito. He died Sept. 22, 1988.
She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Greta Alexander.
Surviving are one daughter, Bobbie Johnson (and Ahto Saviste) of Springfield; one sister, Alice Scherer of Manito; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was a clerk at C.J. DeSutter Store from 1930 to 1946 and at Block & Kuhl Department Store in Peoria for many years. She also taught tap dancing at Beebe Dance Studio from 1940 to 1950.
She and her husband farmed and renovated homes in the Manito area for many years. She was a member of Sweet Adelines in Pekin for several years.
She was a charter member of Manito Historical Society and Mason County Farm Bureau. She was instrumental in the formation of the Forman Improvement Group that initiated the Forman Ambulance Group and the first Manito doctor's office.
She was a member of Community United Methodist Church in Manito, where she was a charter member of its United Methodist Women.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Meadow Lawn Cemetery. The Rev. David Phillips will officiate. There will be no visitation. Maas Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
