Parents were John Thomas Lockenour and Mary Alice Crim Lockenour Nale Joos. She was born in Washington County on March 23, 1882. She was united in marriage to Charles Kirk Guthrie on September 27, 1903. Zetta Guthrie of 632 Q street, Bedford, Indiana died at 5:45 Thursday afternoon at the Dunn hospital following an operation for ruptured appendix. She was stricken Tuesday at her home and her condition became quite serious Tuesday night. She was rushed to the Dunn hospital early Wednesday morning and an operation was performed in a final effort to save her life, but poison had spread through her system to such an extent that the effort was futile and she sank rapidly until death relieved her sufferings. She is survived by the husband, four sons, Carl Avis Guthrie of Indianapolis, Hugh Ivis, Doyle Ernest, and Clyde Edward Guthrie at home, one sister, Mrs. Lillian McGinnis of Lake City, Florida and her father John Thomas Lockenour. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Alice Crim Lockenour Nale Joos in 1925 and a daughter, Mary Gladys Guthrie in 1918. Funeral services will be conducted from the residence at 1:30 Monday afternoon by Joel Lee Jones, pastor of the First Christian church. Buriel will be made in Green Hill Cemetery.
