David Arnold married Nancy Virginia "Jennie" Wheeler Arnold, October 7, 1910, in Paulding County, GA. They had several children: James P.,Otis, Zannie , Hazel, Wheeler David "Byrd", Bettie,and George William "Dick" Arnold.
David Daniel Arnold Dies After Lengthy Illness
Mr. David Daniel Arnold, age 89, of Route 5, Dallas, Georgia, passed away on Monday, April 6, 1981 at the Paulding Medical Nursing Unit following an illness of two years. Mr. Arnold had been a resident of the Nursing Unit for only eleven days.
Mr. Arnold was born in Albertville, Alabama on July 21, 1891, the son of the late John Arnold and the late Zannie Grogan Arnold. He had lived in Paulding County for the past sixty years. He and his wife, the former Kate Butler, had been married for 3½ years. Mr. Arnold had been self-employed as a famer most of his life.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Kate Arnold, Dallas; three daughters, Mrs. Zannie Townsend, Columbus, Mrs. Gus Jenkins, Dallas and Mrs. Richard Morrison, Marietta, Georgia; three sons, Mr. James P. Arnold, Aragon, Georgia and Mr. Wheeler D. Arnold and Mr. George W. Arnold, both of Dallas; sister, Mrs. Sammie Woodall, Dallas; twenty-two grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held on Wednesday, April 8, 1981 at 2 o'clock from the Martin Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ray Mauldin, Reverend Lamar Smith and Reverend Henry B. Moore officiating. Grandsons served as active pallbearers.
Interment was in the New Hope Cemetery with Martin Funeral Home, Dallas, Georgia, in charge of the arrangements.
