Cecil B. "Preach" Atchley, 90, of Lilbourn, died at 3:20 p.m. Aug. 29, 2008, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born Oct. 24, 1917, in Matthews, he was the son of the late Noah and Carrie Gibson Atchley.
On May 16, 1942, he married Ruby Christine Smith who preceded him in death on July 11, 1997.
Survivors include: eight sons and seven daughter-in-laws, Larry and Joyce Atchley, Mikel and Kim Atchley, Travis and Rita Atchley, Glynn and Debbie Atchley, Vince Atchley, Lynn and Joan Atchley, Elvis and Sabrina Atchley and Brian and Debbie Atchley; four daughters, Blendia (Bob) Phelps, Janice Roth (Ron Barone), Sherrie Crouthers and Karen (Robert) Clay; and 28 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by three sisters and six brothers.
Visitation was scheduled at the Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid where services were held with the Rev. Bob Medlock officiating.
Burial followed in the Matthews Cemetery.
