Juanita was born April 12, 1916 in Knox County, Texas to Stone and Alice (Edge) Gunnels. She and Roy L. Brown were married July 21, 1934 in Knox County. She lived in Morton for 34 years and in Lubbock for 22 years. Juanita was a Baptist, having been baptized at the old Calvary Baptist Church in downtown Lubbock. She and Roy were active members of First Baptist Church in Morton for many years.
Juanita was a loving wife to Roy and a wonderful mother to her son, Jack. She created a wonderful home for her family where friends and neighbors were always welcome, making time to bake cakes and make coffee. She loved a good laugh and good, clean fun. She was a generous, giving woman and was well loved by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
Juanita is survived by her son, Jack Brown and wife Linda of Dallas; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy in 1985 and her daughter, Mary Ann in 1948.
