BLACKFOOT --- Leonard Lee Eversole, 70, Blackfoot, died Monday, Nov. 6, 1989, at Bingham Memorial Hospital of a ruptured aneurysm in the brain. Mr. Eversole was born March 14, 1919, in Dixon, Wyo., the son of Earl and Emma (Stocks) Eversole. He married Mabel Calnan in March 1937 in Craig, Colo. They were later divorced. He married Edith Rasley on Sept. 18, 1961, in Evanston, Wyo. They have lived in Blackfoot since 1965.
He was a member of the LDS Church, the Cedar Hills Gun Club, the National Rifle Association, Portneuf Mussle Loaders Club, Pipefitter Union Local 648, and the United Association of Pipefitters. Before retiring, he had worked as a pipefitter at the INEL. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bowling and was an avid gunsmith.
Survivors include his wife Edith of Blackfoot; one son, Leonard Eversole of Bountiful, Utah; two daughters, Kay Trumbo of Aloha, Ore., and Mrs. Jerry (Jackie) Leech of Rawlins, Wyo.; one step-son, Larry Slaughter of Pocatello; one step-daughter, Janette Slaughter of Laurel, Md.; three brothers, Frank Eversole of Idaho Falls, Sanford Eversole of Warren, Utah, and Don Eversole of Evanston; three sisters, Mrs. Etha Hiatt of Blackfoot, Mrs. Lucille Hill of New Mexico, and Mrs. Patricia Meehan of Layton, Utah.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon Friday, Nov. 10, 1989, at the Hill-Sandberg Funeral Chapel by Bishop Edwin B. Jones of the LDS 9th Ward. Interment will be in the Grove City Cemetery. The family will meet with friends Thursday from 7-9 p.m. and Friday for one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
