Married Parthena Josephine Williams. daughter of Francis Marion Williams and Martha Clark of Graves County, Ky on April 30, 1891. Eight children: Monroe Jesse, Maude Viola, Morrilton Leo, Marshall Middleton, Mayme Mary, Robert Malloy, Manco John, and Margaret Josephine.

Married Nellie Elizabeth Collins, daughter of William Dee Collins and Pricilla Elizabeth Swaim, on May 23, 1925. Five Children: Gary Poindexter, Charles Conway, Mary Verneil, Calvin Abner and Doris Ann.

Served as Coroner and Sheriff of Independence County, a noted farmer and respected member of community.
