Louise was one of five children born to Francis Gale and his wife Mary Wilson. On 17 Dec 1912 in Norfolk, Virginia, she married William Fentress. They were the parents of three children.

Mrs. Louise G. Fentress, Norfolk Churchwoman

Norfolk—Mrs. Louise Gale Fentress, Norfolk church-woman, died Tuesday in the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. William Kilby Fentress, Jr., in Media, PA.

A lifelong resident of Norfolk, she had lived in Media since September, when her husband William Kilby Fentress, died. Her parents were Frank and Mrs. Mollie Carter Winston Gale. She was a graduate of the old Norfolk College for Young Ladies.

For many years she was active in Freemason Street Baptist Church, where she served as president of the Ladies Aid Society, now the Women's Missionary Society. She was instrumental in establishing the Melton Scholarship to Westhampton College, which for 27 years has furnished financial assistance to young women of the church. She also was a former teacher of the Amoma Class of the church and former president of the Fellowship Class of the Sunday school. She formerly lived at 1406 Westover Ave.

Besides her son, surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Thomas Andrew Ahroon of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one sister, Mrs. William B. Anselm of Bayside and six grandchildren. Out-of-town relatives are at the home of Mrs. Fentress' niece, Mrs. W.O. Sherman, Jr. of 513 Battery Road, Bayside.

The body is in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments. A funeral service will b held in Freemason Street Baptist Church Saturday at 11 a.m. by Dr. William L. Lumpkin, pastor. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Virginia Baptist Home at Culpeper.
