John was named after the priest at St. Stephen's RC Church in Blairgowrie, Father John Malcolm. Father Malcolm married his parents, Helen O'Donnell & John Haxton. John arrived in Boston with his Mother, sister Catherine, and his brothers James, Leo, Stewart, Claude and Ted on 29 Oct 1913. He worked for Brown & Sharpe. Grandma said he was always well dressed.
