On Feb. 25, 1956, she married Charles Franklin May, who preceded her in death on Nov. 30, 2009.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Lee Dovel.
Frances was a faithful member of Grove Hill United Methodist Church and loved reading, especially her Bible. She loved taking cruises and traveling with her family to Pigeon Forge, where she loved shopping at the Christmas Store and staying at the Christmas Inn. Frances was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and lived her life to be an inspiration to her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughters, Dee Dee Maiden and husband, Jeff, and Christi Charlene Armentrout and husband, Rodney; one brother, Larry Elwood Dovel and his wife, Sharon, all of Shenandoah; three grandchildren, Jeremy W. Maiden, Sarah Beth May Maiden and Anna May Armentrout; two great-grandchildren, Brayden Fletcher and Caroline McDaniel; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, 2018, at Rest Haven Cemetery in Shenandoah with Pastor Ellen Martin officiating.
