Birth name was Edna May; she changed it to Mae.
Edna was born on a farm near Corunna, DeKalb Co., IN and died as a result of cerebral hemorrhage caused by high blood pressure. In 1906 she and her sisters, Bessie and Gladys, attended the Turkey Creek School in Salem Tp., Steuben Co., IN, where they were taught by Irma Parr who was their teacher (Newspaper article from The News Sentinel - Roto dated 2 Oct. 1965, Ft. Wayne, IN). Edna was a very popular girl in high school, and the president of her class. She married her high school classmate, Cloud Cray, at Ft. Wayne, IN.

Atchison, Kas., Nov. 13. - Mrs. Edna Cray, 62, wife of Cloud L. Cray, president of the Midwest Solvents Co., Inc., of Atchison, and the McCormick Distilling company of Weston, Mo., died in her sleep today of a cerebral hemorrhage at the family's home, "Craybank," an estate on the outskirts of Atchison. She had been in poor health three years.

Mrs. Cray was born October 2, 1895, in Coruna, Ind., and was married to Cloud Cray June 21, 1917, at Ft. Wayne, Ind. Before moving to Atchison the Cray family resided in Birmingham, Mich. At that time Cloud L. Cray, sr., was an investment banker in Detroit.

Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Mrs. James E. Jeffries of Atchison and mrs. George W. Page of Fort Lewis, Wash.; two sons, Cloud L. Cray, jr., Atchison, and Richard B. Cray, Weston, Mo.; her mother, Mrs. Ada B. Reinoehl, Fort Wayne; four sisters, Mrs. Norman Gruber, Mrs. Otto Kelder and Mrs. Clyde Briggs, all of Fort Wayne, and Mrs. Fred Titsworth, Cleveland, O., and 10 grandchildren.

Built in 1948 on the site of the former Prospect Park sanitarium, the Cray home is one of the showplaces of Atchison, Mr. and Mrs. Cray entered their jumping horses in the American Royal at Kansas City and in other horse shows. In recent years they have owned racing horses that have run at various tracks throughout the country.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Friday at the First Presbyterian church. Burial in Mt. Vernon cemetery.
