OBITUARY
Veda Wheeler Robinson John, 90 years old, of Providence, Utah, died a natural death on 23 June 2010. Veda and her twin sister were born 5 October 1919 in Tetonia Basin near Felt, Idaho. Veda was the thirteenth of fourteen children born to Elijah Robinson and Lucinda Almeda Wheeler.

Veda lived in Idaho for six years. The family then moved to Perry, Utah, later moving to a rented chicken ranch in Logan, Utah. The family then moved to Providence, Utah. Upon graduating from high school, Veda and her twin sister attended college at the A.C., now Utah State University, in Logan, Utah.

She then joined a couple of her sisters in Washington, DC, obtained employment with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and met a special man, Forrest Fay John, also an employee with the FBI. On 22 July 1944, Veda married Forrest in Houston, Texas. When Forrest departed for his World War II overseas tour of duty in Europe, the war bride briefly joined her parents-in-law in Arkansas before returning home as a telephone operator in Logan, Utah.

After the war ended, Forrest and Veda took a delayed month-long honeymoon, returning to employment with the FBI in Washington, DC. Veda accompanied her husband wherever he was assigned in the United States. In addition to Washington, DC, they lived near San Francisco and Los Angeles, California, and in Dallas, Texas.

After her husband's retirement, Veda accompanied him around the United States in a travel trailer doing genealogy research six to nine months per year for over 20 years, with homes in various states throughout the nation. Her hobbies included sewing, quilting, reading, and crafts.

The loves of her life included the gospel of Jesus Christ, her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, relatives, and friends. Veda also held several callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints: visiting teacher, Sunday School teacher, Cub Scout den mother, Primary secretary, Primary Stake Board in-service teacher, Relief Society teacher, Relief Society secretary, and Relief Society President in Texas and Arkansas. With her husband, Veda served a full-time mission in Arkansas.

Preceding her in death are her parents (providence, UT); husband (providence, UT); six sisters and six brothers; and son, Robert (Alexandria, VA). Surviving her are her brother, Richard (providence, UT); son, Glenn (Salt Lake City, UT), daughter-in-law, Barbara (Alexandria, Y A); daughter, Marsha (Escondido, CA); son, Forrest (Providence, UT); 11 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.
